This week our turtle patrol has been active every night with our guests making their patrol of the Island. They found a Green turtle laying eggs a few nights ago and have carefully relocated the eggs into our hatchery. A couple of days ago, Andy and Nadine from Germany very kindly sponsored this latest nest of 111, so wanted to say a very big thank you for their support of our Turtle Conservation Fund and will keep you posted for when those babies are born.
Also this week, our nest of 44 eggs hatched with 38 healthy baby green turtles released to the sea witnessed by our lovely guests and 2 nights ago, another Hawksbill nest was born. Update coming shortly. Well done to our patrol for another good hatch rate which we hope is helping the survival rate of our turtle population at Pom Pom.
