This week, at the hatchery, our Turtle Patrol are busy replacing the old sand in the hatchery with fresh clean sand. The reason for this is that over time, the original sand becomes dirty and we start getting tree root and ant problems. Its a big job to take out all the sand, but the boys are ready for the task, they have been digging it out now for 2 days, so we hope that it should be empty by tonight, then the plan is to refill with clean sand later in the week.
今週の海亀パトロール隊、卵の保護コーナーの清掃活動に励んでおります。課題はコーナー内の砂の入れ替え作業。古くなった砂をフレッシュな砂へ交換。卵の育成を阻害する木の根や蟻を一掃するのが目的。砂の交換は大変な作業。。。パトロール隊の除砂作業はもう今日で２日目。今晩までにはなんとか完了できそうだわね。そのあとは新しい砂を入れて作業の完了！
