Yesterday, Mario taking a stroll along the beach when he found some fresh green turtle tracks so we called Raimond, our turtle egg expert and started the hunt to find where she had laid her eggs. She had tried in several different places, and in the end had laid her eggs under some trees in the undergrowth, about 10 metres above the high tide line. After an hour of Mario and Raimond searching in several places, Mario struck gold, (well turtle egg) and we were able to move the 89 eggs to our hatchery. (The reasons for moving the nest and not leaving on site is that unfortunately they can get taken by predators or stolen). Mario was very happy with finding his first turtle eggs, so well done from all of us, now we will keep watching the nest over the next 60 days until they hatch.
