Watching a “hatchling” struggle out of the nest and make its own way to the water is very special and emotional experience….

Last night, after the daily turtle patrol, the conservation team checked few nests, and one of them  (green turtle, 44 eggs), sponsored by Carolina and Alessandro, was just starting to hatch!!

In total 40 hatchlings made their way to Pom Pom water! we hope to see few of them back on the island in 20-30 years 🙂

Everything from footprints to driftwood and crabs are obstacles…..

Birds, crabs and fish are just a few of the predators these vulnerable creatures face!

Some turtle experts say only one out of a thousand will survive to adulthood under natural conditions.

Big thanks to Carolina and Alessandro for supporting our conservation activities!

Be part of our conservation activities and share our love for sea turtles!
